International Students’ Group Medical Insurance (before enrolling in the National Health Insurance, NHI) Overseas Chinese language students should have the “Group Medical Insurance”. Our center can assist students with this process. The insurance fee is 950 NTD per period. Students who wish to participate should register and pay the fee at our center during each registration period.
Coverage Scope: Limited to medical procedures within Taiwan (excluding health check-ups). Illnesses or injuries prior to taking out the insurance, as well as specific diseases and medical procedures stipulated by the insurance company, are not covered.
Outpatient: You can visit nearby qualified clinics or hospitals. All expenses should be paid upfront by the insured. After which, submit the “original receipt”, “Chinese diagnosis certificate”, and details of your financial account opened in Taiwan along with the Unified Certificate Number to our office to fill out the claim application form. The outpatient benefit for the same symptoms is limited to once a day and the maximum payout is 1,000 NTD.
Inpatient: Restricted to legal hospitals as stipulated by the Department of Health. All expenses should be paid upfront by the insured. The daily hospital room charge limit is 1,000 NTD, with a maximum payout of 120,000 NTD for the same hospitalization. Two hospitalizations should have a 14-day gap between them. For emergency treatments, visit legal hospitals specified by the Department of Health. After your treatment, submit the “original receipt”, “Chinese diagnosis certificate”, and your financial account details in Taiwan along with the Unified Certificate Number to our center for claims processing.
After every medical visit, bring the following documents to the Chinese Language Center to apply for reimbursement:
Reimbursement items and costs are determined directly by the insurance company based on the content of the diagnosis certificate. For any related matters not mentioned, the terms of the insurance policy signed with Cathay Life Insurance Company shall prevail.
